Events for Rugby Supporters

Overview

One of the most important lessons rugby has consistently demonstrated to us is its power to bring people together. On the surface, rugby is a tough sport for warriors testing individual grit and strengthening mental fortitude. But at its core, rugby is a team sport that links people together, hones a concentrated group mindset, and empowers a squad to sync towards a goal. Among individuals hailing from wildly different backgrounds, career fields, and personalities, a fiery passion for rugby can serve to establish strong bonds and develop meaningful connections.

Across Japan, the number of people participating in rugby games since 1980 has exceeded 1.2 million people. Despite the growing popularity of the sport, rugby players of past and present in Japan lament the lack of opportunities to connect in an environment away from the pitch. Rugby players, enthusiasts, and fans present a formidable group of individuals eager to both deepen links and widen their network – without always donning a kit. In fact, the expanding power of rugby throughout the country presents unique chances to support reconstruction efforts in disaster-stricken areas, increase regional awareness, and boost charitable efforts.

The concept of World Sports Legacy, Golf Competition, Rugby Heroes was originally conceived from the idea that sports serves many functions. Regardless of age, gender, or skill level, everyone is invited to enjoy a few days to kick back at the golf course. Throughout the tournament, you’ll be part of a vibrant community of individuals engaging in open-minded discussions whilst partaking in outdoor activities.

As a golf competition, World Sports Legacy, Golf Competition, Rugby Heroes enables everyone to rekindle connections and develop new networks. The characteristics of golf and the tournament facilitates open-minded discussions, interaction with locals, and thought-provoking exchanges regarding the development of the sport, regional reconstruction efforts, local economic revitalization, etc.

In the near future, the World Sports Legacy, Golf Competition, Rugby Heroes will be held several times a year in various regions throughout Japan. Ultimately, our goal is to build towards a brighter future for Japan and develop a legacy through rugby.
