Since its opening in 1990, The Classic Golf Club has played host to a number of professional golf tournaments over the years, including the Japan Women’s Championship in 1995 and the Japan Senior Open Golf Championship in 2017.
Home to Toyota’s Lexus factories, Miyawaka City in Fukuoka Prefecture is located less than an hour from Fukuoka Airport by car. Past the industrial hub, The Classic Golf Club can be found nestled among dense green foliage and sprawling greens. Designed by Shoichi Suzuki, each of the 27-holes at The Classic Golf Club bring a unique flavor and challenge to the course. With its grandiose clubhouse and immaculate fairways, The Classic Golf Club will provide a formidable grounds as the host of the Japan Women’s Open Championship in 2020.
Split among three 9-hole courses – the King, Queen, and Prince – you’ll find The Classic Golf Club’s courses challenging and enjoyable, with tee markers of varying lengths on all three courses. Get ready for wide fairways and demanding distances at the stunning yet formidable King course! Don’t let the stunning natural views distract you; the King Course may look like a postcard with dense forest and brilliant shades of green but it offers a very challenging round of golf requiring accurate tee shots.
The Queen course reflects architect Shoichi Suzuki’s affinity for water elements – five of the nine holes feature the pond. Last though certainly not least, the Prince’s 9-hole course is the most varied of the three courses. In addition to doglegs and downhill fairways, there is a short hole surrounded by ponds from tee to green.
